The Team Kass Foundation was formed in January 2013 as a way to honor a sweet soul gone too soon, our beloved baby sister and daughter, Kathleen. Kass was called home to Heaven on July 2, 2012, almost one year to the day following her cancer diagnosis.
Please take a moment to read our mission and purpose to better understand our Foundation’s work. We also invite you to participate or volunteer at future Team Kass events.
This picture shows Kass holding the love and joy of her life, her baby girl, Josie. Josie was only 4-years old when her Momma went to Heaven. As every mother does, Kass held precious hopes and dreams for Josephine’s life close in her heart.
In addition to the work of the Foundation, on these pages we invite you to read about Kass’s life, including many wonderful memories we share to honor her grace and courage. Each story has been captured in the Team Kass Archive on the right menu bar. We have found solitude in writing and view it as a way to make sense of all that has happened. We also hope to preserve a treasure of memories for little Josephine, so that as she grows into a beautiful young lady, she will come to know and understand the courage and grace that her Momma showed throughout her life, mostly exemplified during her 12-month battle to live.
Kathleen’s light still shines on the world. She was a funny, happy, loving, and kind person. In addition to being an outstanding mother, Kathleen was an aunt to two nephews and three nieces. She was also a wife and a supportive and loving daughter and sister. With two older brothers and an older sister who doted on her, she was the quintessential baby of the family.

May she now rest in peace. You are forever in our hearts, sweet Kass!

Thank you for your support!
This summer I started chemotherapy for breast cancer. I was given a bag of all kinds of things, including a hand crocheted lap robe. I’d like to thank you for this. It was a lovely surprise as I started an entirely different chapter in my life. So far, I seem to be doing fairly well but there is more to come. I’m hoping I can do it graciously – no matter what the outcome. Again, thank you. Evelyn A Caldera
Thank you for your nice note, Ms. Caldera! We are happy to have provided a little comfort to you along your journey!
