Essence of You Program
In January 2021, the Paternostro Cancer Foundation launched our newest initiative for cancer patients, Essence of You, in partnership with the Susquehanna Health Foundation. Over the past six years, this program has positively impacted patients receiving treatment at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Williamsport. Most participants see this program as a “respite from cancer treatments” and a “moment to relax and enjoy myself.”
From our early days, launched during COVID.
Mission/Purpose of the Program:
To provide local patients facing cancer a momentary respite from their treatment by:
–Offering holistic opportunities for self-care
–Experiencing camaraderie with other survivors of cancer
-Learning a new skill in a supportive and caring environment
-Cultivating the “essence of you” in their daily lives.
